A Forward in Faith Parish under the care of the Bishop of Richborough

Sir John Betjeman described St Mary's Wellingborough as the 'finest modern parish church in England' and many other writers and scholars, from Nikolaus Pevsner to Simon Jenkins, have joined Betjeman in acclaiming St Mary's as a twentieth century masterpiece.  This website will provide you with a glimpse of what so entranced Betjeman and we hope you will feel encouraged to visit St Mary's yourself.

From the time of its foundation St Mary's has stood firmly in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England.  Here you can expect to find dignity, order and structure in worship, orthodox teaching, and faithfulness to apostolic order.  We do our best to share with others such insights into Word and Sacrament as our tradition can afford.

We affirm the Faith of the Church as revealed in Scripture and Tradition.  We proclaim our Faith through the Creeds, the Sacraments and the apostolic ministry of bishops and priests of the Universal Church.  We seek a guaranteed ecclesial structure in which we can pass the Faith on to our children and grandchildren.  We have a vision for unity and truth and we are going Forward in Faith.
